HUD Announces Free Webinar on Integrated Pest Management in HUD Housing
A free webinar presented by three doctors from the Arizona Pest Management Center at the University of Arizona will be held on Wed., Nov. 14th from 1 to 2:30 p.m. ET. The webinar, entitled "Integrated Pest Management – A Simple Solution to Problem Pests in Elderly and Disabled Public Housing," will review the results of an effort to implement a pest management system across five HUD-subsidized multi-unit properties that house low-income seniors and disabled individuals. Results from that effort included an average 87 percent reduction in units with German cockroaches and 93 percent reduction in units with bed bugs. The presenters will detail how this model can be replicated through the use of available pest management tools, regular inspections, and the development of effective response strategies for staff and residents.
Registration and further information about this webinar may be found here. A recording of the webinar, a PDF of the slides, and a certificate of completion will also be posted at that site following the event. Any questions regarding the webinar may be directed to stoppests@cornell.edu.
