Emergency Management Webinar Scheduled for NYC Home Care Providers
A free emergency management webinar is being offered by the NYS Association of Health Care Providers (HCP), an association colleague of LeadingAge NY. As determined in the NYC Home Care Emergency Management Assessment Surveys conducted in 2021 and 2022 under a grant from NYC Emergency Management, emergency communications are an area of concern for home care providers.
To help address that gap, this session will describe the benefits of using a mass notification application to quickly disseminate information to home care staff and patients in the event of an emergency. The webinar will review the essential features for providers to explore when choosing a messaging system and touch on some bonus functionalities that might make a system more cost-effective and/or expand its versatility for use in other aspects of their operations.
Carole Deyoe, senior associate of public policy at HCP, will provide the topic overview. Attendees will then hear from several home care providers who will provide their perspectives regarding the mass notification systems (e.g., Everbridge) they use in their organizations. Finally, the session will review the emergency alert subscriptions available to providers to help keep their emergency management team informed. The session will include time for questions and answers. All NYC home care provider agencies are invited to attend and share the resources with their workers in the field.
Date and Time: Tues., Dec. 12, 2023, 1 p.m. ET
