Comprehensive Emergency Management Plan Training for Home Care and Hospice Available

(Dec. 23, 2024) LeadingAge NY's colleagues at the Home Care Association of NYS (HCA), the NYS Association of Health Care Providers (HCP), and the Hospice and Palliative Care Association of NYS (HPCANYS) have developed a Comprehensive Emergency Management Plan (CEMP) training for home care and hospice providers under a NYS Emergency Preparedness Grant.

The purpose of the CEMP training is to provide personnel at home care and hospice agencies across NYS with the information and tools to develop a CEMP to prepare for, respond to, and recover from natural and manmade disasters.

As a reminder, the CEMP is an optional tool, not a requirement of the Department of Health (DOH), but is offered to assist agencies to enhance and strengthen their existing Emergency Preparedness and Management plans. Agencies may also use the CEMP document and tools as their main planning documents.

The CEMP training is available through an interactive online module on DOH's Learning Management System (LMS) free of charge. To enroll in the training, click here.
