Bright Spot: New housing for seniors

Episcopal SeniorLife Communities (ESLC) broke ground on its newest senior housing community, Ellen's Place, on June 20th. The community, which will offer more than 70 units, will be named after Ellen McNellis, an Irondequoit native for whom ESLC cared in the last few years of her life.

Creative for a Cause: Jewish Senior Life Hosts Art Sale for Alzheimer’s Association on The Longest Day

Jewish Senior Life will be participating in The Longest Day on Wed., June 21st to raise funds and awareness for the care, support, and research efforts of the Alzheimer’s Association. The annual event sheds light on the darkness of Alzheimer’s and traditionally garners thousands of participants around the world who select an activity of their choice. This year’s event at Jewish Senior Life focuses on an art sale with items created by Jewish Home of Rochester residents and members of the organization’s Adult Day Health Care program.
