Area Hospitals and Nursing Homes Host Local Legislators at the Greater Rochester Chamber of Commerce Representatives from Rochester Regional Health, University of Rochester Medical Center, and the Alliance for Senior Care — a consortium of five not-for-profit nursing homes in Greater Rochester that includes Episcopal SeniorLife Communities, Friendly Senior Living, Jewish Home, St. Ann’s Community, and St. John’s — recently hosted legislators at the Greater Rochester Chamber of Commerce. The purpose of the meeting was to continue the important dialogue with elected officials that was established during the New York State budget process. The discussion specifically addressed furthering essential priorities including the distribution of increased rates for nursing homes, capital reimbursements, and expeditious federal funding for increased clinical staffing.

Maternal Child Visitor Restrictions Lifted for Wynn Hospital Visitor restrictions put in place for the Maternal Child units at the Wynn Hospital have been lifted. The restrictions were in place to better protect patients and employees from the flu, COVID, RSV and other illnesses.

John May Mile and 5K at Peconic Landing raises more than $24K for local fire department Participants ran, walked – and at least one cruised – across the finish line at the John May Mile and 5K fundraiser at Peconic Landing on May 11th. The event, now in its 18th year, raised $24,730 for the Greenport Fire Department.
