NYS has finalized the SFY 2025-26 budget. LeadingAge NY has released summaries of the key takeaways from the health, housing, and remaining budget bills and how they may impact long-term care providers. We urge members to continue their advocacy efforts in the weeks leading up to the end of session.

The Governor and Legislature have reached an agreement on the State budget for FY 2026, although negotiations on health-related items are still ongoing. Members should keep urging legislators to include our priorities in the final budget.

The SFY 2025-26 budget is now two weeks overdue. We ask LeadingAge NY members to continue to advocate with us to ensure that the needs of older adults remain top of mind for elected officials!

Congress has officially begun the budget reconciliation process, and key programs that support aging services are at risk. We strongly encourage our NY members to join us in protecting federal funding!

The deadline for passage of the State budget has passed, and negotiations are currently ongoing. It is critical that we use this time to maintain pressure on State policymakers, urging them to prioritize long-term care and aging services.
