LeadingAge Provides Summary of New OSHA Reporting Rule

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) published a final rule on May 12, 2016 aimed at improving tracking of workplace injuries and illnesses. Portions of the rule go into effect on Aug. 10, 2016, with remaining requirements phased in over time.

LeadingAge has prepared a concise summary for members. The summary covers key aspects of the OSHA rule including the organizational electronic submission requirements; public posting of data; employee injury and illness reporting requirements; incentive programs; post-accident drug and alcohol testing; and effective dates for submitting required forms electronically.
