Final Paid Family Leave Regulations Adopted

Last week, the New York State Workers' Compensation Board (WCB) published a final regulation governing implementation of the New York Paid Family Leave Benefits Law, which was enacted in 2016. The Paid Family Leave program, which goes into effect on Jan. 1, 2018, will provide eligible employees with up to 12 weeks of paid family leave in a one-year period.

LeadingAge NY's general counsel, Hinman Straub, has prepared a summary of the final WCB rule. Further information on the Paid Family Leave program for employers, employees, and health care providers is available here.
