Next MPA Town Hall Scheduled for June 11th in NYC
(June 4, 2024) The NYS Department of Health (DOH) and Office for the Aging (SOFA) have announced a Master Plan for Aging (MPA) Town Hall, scheduled for Tues., June 11th from 1:30-3:30 p.m. at The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Community Center. This is an accessible facility located at 208 W. 13th St. in NYC.
Registration is required to attend the Town Hall in person or to access the virtual livestream.
Town Hall events have been hosted throughout the MPA development process on Long Island, across NYC, and in regional hubs across the state, including Albany, Utica, Binghamton, and Buffalo. A full list of MPA community engagement events, including available transcripts and recordings, is available on the State’s website.
These events are designed for New Yorkers to learn more about the status of the MPA and to provide their feedback on how the final plan would best serve the older adults in their communities. A final advisory report based on the recommendations received at the community engagement events, as well as the work of the Stakeholder Advisory Committee and State Agency Council, was planned to be submitted for the Governor’s consideration in 2024, with adoption of the final MPA, based on the advisory report, originally scheduled for early 2025.
