New York State Convenes “Association Resource Group” to Help Develop Master Plan for Aging
New York State officials led by Department of Health (DOH) Deputy Commissioner Adam Herbst and Office for the Aging (SOFA) Director Greg Olsen called the first meeting of the Master Plan for Aging (MPA) Association Resource Group (ARG) on Mon., March 6th, inviting associations representing patient, consumer, professional, and industry groups engaged with the State’s aging community to participate in and serve as a resource for the effort to craft a comprehensive MPA.
Work on the MPA will largely be driven by issue-focused subcommittees and workgroups organized under a larger Stakeholder Advisory Committee and guided by a State Agency Council. Associations participating in the ARG, like LeadingAge NY, will have the opportunity to be assigned to relevant subcommittees; to comment on the proposals developed by the Stakeholder Advisory Committee; and to solicit and convey public, provider, and other stakeholder feedback that can aid in the development of a successful MPA.
LeadingAge NY will continue to explore avenues of engagement in the MPA process, including subcommittee participation, to ensure that member experience is appropriately recognized and utilized as the State works to create a Plan that will allow more New Yorkers to age safely and with dignity in the settings of their choice.
