MPA Town Hall Returning to Harlem Fri., May 17th

(May 14, 2024) The NYS Department of Health (DOH) and Office for the Aging (SOFA) have announced a Master Plan for Aging (MPA) Town Hall, scheduled for Fri., May 17th from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. at SAGE Center Harlem. This is an accessible facility located at 220 West 143rd Street in NYC.

Registration is required to attend the Town Hall in person or access the virtual livestream.

Town Hall events have been hosted throughout the MPA development process on Long Island, across NYC, and in regional hubs across the state, including Albany, Utica, Binghamton, and Buffalo. A full list of MPA community engagement events, including available transcripts and recordings, is available on the State’s website.

These events are designed for New Yorkers to learn more about the status of the MPA and to provide their feedback on how the final plan would best serve the older adults in their communities. A final advisory report based on the recommendations received at the community engagement events, as well as the work of the Stakeholder Advisory Committee and State Agency Council, is expected to be submitted for the Governor’s consideration later this year. Adoption of the final MPA, based on the advisory report, is anticipated in early 2025.
