These ongoing public engagement sessions provide an opportunity for New Yorkers to learn more about the status of the MPA in real time and to provide feedback on how the final plan could best serve the older adults in their communities. The Governor is expected to issue the final MPA in early 2025.
Additionally, the Department of Health (DOH) and State Office for the Aging (SOFA) are asking for feedback via a statewide public survey to help shape the strategies and priorities of the MPA. Members are encouraged to complete the survey prior to the Dec. 31st deadline and to share widely among their staff, residents and families, and community networks to help ensure that the final MPA reflects and serves their needs.
Take the survey online, and find PDF versions of the survey in multiple languages here. Alternatively, those requiring bulk mailing of paper copies should reach out to MPA@health.ny.gov and specify their preferred language.
LeadingAge NY staff and members are also continuing their active participation in the issue-focused MPA subcommittees and workgroups, and welcome additional member input and recommendations to be considered for inclusion in the final plan.
