State Issues Influenza and RSV Surveillance and Reporting Requirements for 2024-25

(Oct. 1, 2024) The NYS Department of Health (DOH) issued two advisories on Sept. 30th providing a summary of influenza and respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) prevention and reporting requirements for health care providers, clinical laboratories, local health departments (LHDs), hospitals, long term care facilities, and other stakeholders.

DOH will conduct enhanced surveillance for both influenza and RSV beginning Sept. 29, 2024, and continuing through the week ending May 17, 2025. Reporting requirements vary by setting and provider type; requirements are summarized in the advisories.
