Members Reminded of Nov. 10th DOH Advisory on Influenza and RSV

Members inquired on the Jan. 3rd LeadingAge NY COVID-19 update webinar about whether guidance has been issued to long term care providers on infection control and care for patients with influenza and respiratory syncytial virus (RSV). The Department of Health (DOH) issued this advisory for health care providers geared toward hospitals, primary care providers, pediatrics, and related entities on Nov. 10, 2022.

The advisory reminds providers that they should be reporting clusters of flu and RSV patients to their local health departments (and in New York City (NYC), the NYC Health Department Provider Access Line at 866-692-3641). The advisory also provides several DOH and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) resources that members should review.
