DataPoint: U.S. House Political Distribution

House Republican leaders last week were unable to persuade the required 216 representatives to vote in favor of the American Health Care Act, a proposal that would have cut funding to New York State by billions. There are currently 237 Republicans and 193 Democrats in the House, and five seats are vacant. The New York congressional delegation is composed of nine Republicans and 18 Democrats.

As we approach the final stretch of state budget negotiations, we urge you to contact your lawmakers to voice your priorities. A link to LeadingAge NY's Advocacy webpage can be found here.
