DataPoint: The 10 Largest CHHAs in NY

(Sept. 23, 2024) The Department of Health’s (DOH) newly published dataset regarding 2022 Certified Home Health Agency (CHHA) Statistical Report data provides detailed insight on CHHA census data, as well as the rate at which patients are being discharged to nursing homes. The 10 largest CHHAs recorded a median count of 21,914 cases, with the remaining 96 agencies recording a median of 1,427. Seven of these 10 organizations are located below Westchester County, and employment at these 10 agencies is trending downward at a median rate of -1.7 percent. Non-profit agencies are represented well, with 47.7 percent of agencies having a “Not for Profit Corporation” designation.
