DataPoint: MLTC Enrollment

Nearly 135,000 New Yorkers in need of long term care services are enrolled in Managed Long Term Care (MLTC) plans.  While Medicaid-only (i.e., partially capitated) plans represent approximately 92 percent of this enrollment statewide, in upstate areas Programs of All Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE) participants account for 24 percent of individuals in managed long term care.  Statewide 5,600 people are served by PACE while Medicaid Advantage Plus (MAP) plans report 5,800 enrollees.  The bulk of MLTC enrollment, 94 percent, is in the eight county region (NY City, Long Island and Westchester County) preparing for the Fully Integrated Dual Advantage (FIDA) demonstration.  The largest MLTC plans serve 15,000 - 17,000 enrollees.

This information is based on the September DOH Medicaid Managed Care Enrollment Report.  Figures by county and plan are available on the LeadingAge NY Data Page.
