DataPoint: Medicaid Managed Care

As of June 2015, New York state had 70 Managed Long Term Care (MLTC) plans serving nearly 141,000 individuals.  Medicaid-only managed long term care plans (commonly referred to as "partially capitated plans") represented the largest volume with almost 125,000 enrollees.  Of these, 106,00 were in New York City.  The state's eight PACE plans had 5,464 participants with 2,046 residing upstate while eight Medicaid Advantage Plus (MAP) plans reported 6,074 enrollees with all but 400 in New York City.  Twenty one FIDA plans were serving 4,407 enrollees with 4,000 scheduled to be passiveley enrolled in July.  While these enrollments represent a high proportion of individuals requiring long term care in the state, the overall numbers pale in comparison with Mainstream Medicaid Managed Care which has reached 4.6 million enrollees.

MLTC enrollment by plan and county are available on the LeadingAge NY data page.
