DataPoint: Long Term Care Budget Cuts

Proposed cuts to aging and long term care funding exceed $145 million for State Fiscal Year 2017-18. This represents 18 percent of all proposed cuts to health care programs and is behind only pharmacy as the sector targeted for the largest health care savings. The two-year spending proposal includes similar funding reductions for Fiscal Year 2018-2019, bringing the two-year total to near $300 million. A chart depicting proposed cuts by sector is available here.
