DataPoint: LHCSA Utilization in NYS

(Oct. 1, 2024) The Department of Health’s (DOH) newly published dataset regarding 2021 Licensed Home Care Services Agency (LHCSA) Annual Statistical Report data provides detailed insight on the number of individuals served by LHCSAs in NYS, as well as the rate at which patients are being discharged to nursing homes. In total, LHCSAs serviced 427,769 individuals in NYS in 2021. Not-for-profit LHCSAs account for 14.7 percent of total agencies in NYS, with limited liability companies (LLCs) and business corporations accounting for 76.4 percent of total agencies.
