DataPoint: ADHC Utilization Trend

Adult Day Health Care (ADHC) capacity has decreased by 32 percent in the New York City area while utilization has remained mostly stable in upstate areas.  Long Island reported the highest median occupancy in July 2014 at 87 percent.  The median utilization rate in New York City has declined over the last three years from 94 percent in July of 2011 to 71 percent in July 2014.  Upstate, programs in Western NY reported the highest recent utilization rates (84 percent) while the median use rate in Northeastern NY stood at 76 percent.  These figures are based on LeadingAge NY analysis of weekly availability reports filed with DOH.  The analysis with regional breakdowns is available here.
