DataPoint: ACF Capacity and Utilization, 2016

Adult Care Facility (ACF) utilization increased in all regions of New York State during the third quarter of 2016. Statewide occupancy increased from 79.1 to 79.4 percent, with the 14-county New York metropolitan area reporting a regional occupancy of 80 percent. Suffolk County has the largest bed capacity in the state, with over 14,000 ACF beds. Of the four regions analyzed, the Capital District maintains the highest occupancy percentage (83.6 percent), while Western New York reported 77.4 percent of its beds were occupied. Average occupancy in Central New York was 76.9 percent. Columbia County, in the Capital District, offers the highest ACF occupancy percentage in the state (95.1 percent).
