DataPoint: 2016 Nursing Home Bed Occupancy

New York State’s 2016 annual nursing home occupancy median of 94 percent is comparable in each region of the state. The Rochester region’s median occupancy was the closest to the statewide annual median, also showing a 94 percent occupancy rate. The state’s highest occupancy median belongs to the New York City region, at over 96 percent annual occupancy. The Central New York, Long Island, Buffalo, and Hudson Valley regions all fell below the statewide annual median with 93 percent occupancy.
