State and Federal Staff COVID Vaccination Mandates Officially Repealed Both the State and CMS have completed the regulatory processes for repealing their respective COVID vaccination mandates for health care personnel. Nursing homes and ACFs are still required to provide COVID vaccination education to staff and residents and offer (or in the case of ACFs, arrange for an appointment to receive) COVID vaccinations.

CMS Suspends Enforcement of Health Care Personnel COVID-19 Vaccination Mandate In a final rule officially published on June 5th, CMS removed the health care personnel COVID-19 vaccination mandate and announced that it would suspend enforcement pending the final rule's effective date in 60 days. This aligned with New York State's suspension of enforcement, announced on May 24th. Nursing homes and ACFs are reminded of requirements to inform staff and residents about the vaccine and make it accessible.
