COVID-19 Rapid Test Kits Now Available for HUD 202 Programs and All LeadingAge Provider Settings and Communities
LeadingAge National has partnered with the White House and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) to launch an opportunity for all aging services providers, including U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) 202 programs, to order free COVID-19 rapid test kits through its website. There are two portals for ordering tests, one for HUD 202 programs and another for all other health care providers and communities.
Owners of HUD 202 elderly housing properties may register through the Health Partner Ordering Portal (HPOP) to begin requesting weekly shipments of QuickVue At-Home OTC COVID-19 Test kits for delivery to their properties for distribution. For instructions on how to register and order test kits for HUD 202 programs, click here; additional information is also provided on the slides located here. LeadingAge National’s press release on the ordering portal is available here.
For HUD 202 programs, LeadingAge National provides the following "hot tip" for ordering test kits:
One step for HUD Section 202 providers ordering no-cost COVID test kits is to include the community’s iREMS number in the “State PIN” field. This is the 9-digit HUD ID for each project that starts with “800XXXXXX.” If you need help finding your iREMS number, visit HUD’s Multifamily Regional Offices page. Then, based on where the property is located, follow the links to find the “Multifamily Property Listing with Assigned Account Executives” (or similar wording) on each region’s page (or state within the region). The iREMS number for each community is listed on these assignment sheets. Read more about ordering test kits for Section 202 communities here, paying extra attention to the step-by-step instructions in this slide deck.
