Fully vaccinated residents are permitted to unmask and have close contact when with fully vaccinated visitors or other fully vaccinated residents. Outdoor visitation may continue during outbreaks for any residents who are not on transmission-based precautions for confirmed or suspected COVID-19 or for an exposure as defined by the CDC.

DOH is slowly releasing guidance in the wake of the rescission of the state public health emergency, including guidance on testing prior to hospital discharge and staff and resident testing. Questions remain regarding the guidance governing visitation, social interaction, and return to work after travel.

Negative test no longer required for nursing homes and adult care facilities to admit residents from a hospital.  Facilities must be able to care for the resident.

Provisions streamline the temporary suspension or modification of regulations in the event of a future disaster emergency.

Many questions remain; however, aspects of personal caregiving regulations are no longer in effect.
