Updated DOH Return to Work Guidance Aligns with September CDC Guidance Under the updated guidance, which applies to all health care settings, asymptomatic HCP with higher-risk exposures are not subject to work restrictions, unless they are moderately to severely immunocompromised. They must, however, be tested for COVID-19 24 hours after the exposure, and if negative, on days 3 and 5 after the exposure. The new guidance does not apply to ACFs, which will be subject to separate guidance anticipated in the near future.

Until DOH issues further clarification, members should consider following CDC guidance when they are not experiencing critical shortages and with respect to HCP who are exposed but not infected.
