The second COVID-19 shot recommended by the CDC on Feb. 28, 2024 for all adults aged 65 and older is now required for these individuals to be considered up to date with COVID-19 vaccination.

The new guidance for the general public recommends that people with respiratory virus symptoms stay home and away from others until at least 24 hours after both resolution of fever and overall symptoms are getting better. The updated guidance does not apply to nursing homes and other health care settings, where pre-existing COVID-19 guidance continues to apply.

The reporting period covers federal COVID-19 relief funds received in the second half of 2022.

DOH confirms that ACF and AL providers should follow updated guidance.
