The letter to the new CDC director urges swift updates to outdated infection control and respiratory virus guidance for health care settings.

DOH notification states that they are currently reviewing the CDC’s changes, along with state-specific data such as current disease trends and insurance coverage factors relevant to residents.

Older adults and individuals who are moderately or severely immunocompromised are due for a second dose of the 2024-25 COVID vaccine if they received their first dose six months ago. 

COVID vaccines are now approved for individuals aged 65 years or older, or those under age 65 who are at risk for serious complications related to COVID infection.

Return-to-work restrictions for HCP are still in place per the CDC.
