Brown University Researchers Seek Nursing Home Leaders for Study on Caring for Residents with Opioid Use Disorder
To inform a study of nursing facility care for individuals with opioid use disorder, researchers at the Brown University School of Public Health are interested in conducting one-time, confidential interviews with administrators and directors of nursing or admissions at skilled nursing facilities. The researchers would like to hear about the experiences of nursing facilities in admitting and caring for people with opioid use disorder. Interviews will focus on factors that inform admission and treatment, access to medication-assisted treatment, areas for improvement, and other observations concerning care for individuals with opioid use disorder.
All interviews will be conducted via videoconferencing or via telephone at your convenience. The interview will last up to one hour. Nursing home leaders who are interested in participating in the study, or learning more, should contact the investigators at oudresearch@brown.edu or 401-400-2021. The study’s Principal Investigator is Patience Moyo, PhD (patience_moyo@brown.edu).
