NYSHealth Seeks Research Grant Proposals
Funding Cycle 2 of the New York State Health Foundation (NYSHealth) 2022 Special Projects Fund Request for Proposals (RFP) is now open. Applicants must submit an online inquiry form to determine whether a proposed project fits the funding criteria. The deadline for the online inquiry form is June 9, 2022. Selected organizations will be invited to submit full proposals, with a deadline of Aug. 18, 2022.
NYSHealth focuses most of its grants on three priority areas: building healthy communities, empowering health care consumers, and veterans’ health. The Special Projects Fund focuses on coordinated interventions that advance NYSHealth’s broad mission and have the potential to measurably improve the health of New Yorkers, especially the most vulnerable, at a local, regional, or statewide level. Besides the three priority areas, requests not eligible for funding include: (1) those that involve funding of ongoing services or activities similar to the normal activities undertaken by an organization; (2) core support/organizational infrastructure; (3) projects that involve the purchase, installation, or upgrade of health information technology systems; (4) projects that are biomedical research-oriented; (5) projects that focus on lobbying; and (6) capital expenses.
NYSHealth Special Projects Fund awards are one-time, non-renewable funding opportunities. Funding requests can range from $50,000 to $300,000. Special Projects Fund grants are typically in the $250,000 range. More information, including frequently asked questions and the full RFP, is posted here.
NYSHealth has a broad mission to improve the health of all New Yorkers, especially the most vulnerable. To achieve meaningful impact, the Foundation makes grants, informs health care policy and practice, and spreads effective programs that work to improve New York’s health system.
