Funding Opportunity for Economic Development, Energy Efficiency and Workforce Development
Governor Cuomo released the 2015 Consolidated Funding Application (CFA) for a variety of economic development, energy efficiency and workforce development grant and financing opportunities. Although not specifically targeted at health care or senior services providers, several of the grants and low-cost financing opportunities are available to not-for-profit organizations. Of particular interest are grants to support energy engineering analyses, energy efficiency measures, low-cost financing for residential rental projects and workforce development for existing employees and new hires. In addition, the CFA announcement includes specfications for the Community Development Block Grant program for eligible counties, towns and cities. These grants may be used to fund projects that serve or house special populations, including seniors and people with disabilities. CFAs are reviewed by the Regional Economic Development Councils and must be submitted online by 4 p.m. on Fri., July 31, 2015.
