Center for Dementia Respite Innovation Opens Grant Application Period
Our colleagues at LeadingAge National have shared a grant opportunity that may be of interest to members. Through a grant awarded to the Alzheimer’s Association from the Administration for Community Living (ACL), the Center for Dementia Respite Innovation (CDRI) was established. The CDRI has released a competitive request for applications from community organizations and providers offering respite services to individuals with dementia and their caregivers. Over the upcoming five years, up to $20 million in grants will be allocated. Grants are bucketed into start-up and pilot categories with awards capped at $250,000. Eligibility for applications is broad, though no more than 30 percent of funds will be allocated to for-profit entities. Terms of the grant will require 25 percent of funding from the provider seeking funding and will come with reporting requirements. An optional letter of intent is due March 21st, and completed applications are due June 1st, with awards anticipated by July 1st. More information and registration for an upcoming informational webinar is available here.
