The federal government announced last week that it would be distributing rapid point-of-care diagnostic test instruments and tests to nursing homes in COVID-19 hotspots. Nursing homes in New York State are not likely to be prioritized for distribution but may nevertheless wish to add the point-of-care tests to their New York State Limited Service Laboratory Registration.

Providers are required to comply with DOH guidance, which differs from the CDC's recommendations. However, the CDC's recommendations may be informative, especially where they are more stringent than State requirements or cover areas not addressed by the State.

Nursing homes now have until July 24^th to complete the matching process and until July 31^st to submit the accompanying certifications.

Residents enrolled in partially capitated MLTC plans who have been in a long-term stay status for three calendar months or longer will automatically revert to FFS Medicaid.

Compliance deadline extended by one year to March 17, 2023.
