HHS has released proposed changes in the HIPAA Security Rule.

The new RFI seeks input by Feb. 28^th on increasing the resilience of residential properties to natural hazards and extreme weather, which will help the agency develop policies that better support housing providers in addressing climate resilience and accessing affordable property insurance.

Additional proposals that may be considered for inclusion in the final MPA could support the development of multigenerational and health care workforce housing as well as home modifications to improve accessibility.

The new program will require rental properties built before 1980 with two or more units in communities of concern outside of NYC to be inspected and documented as free of lead-based paint hazards every three years beginning in fall 2025.

Applications for funding to support development of multi-family rental projects of 4 to 20 units are due Fri., Feb. 14^th.
