Two-Part Webinar Series for Nursing Homes on Survey Preparation
(Oct. 28, 2024) On Oct. 28, 2024, the Department of Health (DOH) sent a message announcing a two-part webinar series for nursing homes beginning next week.
Nursing homes strive to be ready for regulatory visits with the goal of delivering high-quality, safe resident care. This two-part series will help nursing homes to identify best practices and prepare for inspections by DOH.

The series is hosted by the Healthcare Association of NYS (HANYS), but available to all nursing home providers.
Nov. 4, 2024, 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
This first session will cover the history and intent of regulatory surveys. After this session, participants will be able to explain survey process expectations.
Nov. 18, 2024, 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
This second session will describe how nursing homes can prepare for site visits and regulatory surveys to ensure compliance and survey readiness. There will be a discussion about the most common citations in NYS and the tools used by surveyors so that nursing home leadership and staff can identify areas for improvement. After this session, participants will be able to identify the most common citations and describe how the Long-Term Care Critical Element Pathways are used in practice.
