SNF QRP Deadlines Approaching

First Quarter of 2017 Quality Reporting Program (QRP) data for Skilled Nursing Facilities (SNFs) is due Aug. 15th. Members should ensure that MDS data for assessments covering January to March 2017 is correct and complete. Homes with insufficient data to meet the required threshold are subject to a 2 percent reduction of their Medicare Part A revenue.

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) recommends that providers run validation/output reports prior to each quarterly reporting deadline to ensure that all required data has been submitted. The list of measures required for this submission deadline is available here.

CMS recently provided notifications to facilities that were determined to be non-compliant with the previous round of SNF QRP reporting (i.e., fourth quarter of 2016). Notifications of non-compliance were placed into facilities’ Quality Improvement and Evaluation Systems (QIES) – Certification and Survey Provider Enhanced Reporting (CASPER) system on July 14, 2017 and also mailed directly to providers. Providers that receive a letter of non-compliance may submit a request for reconsideration to CMS via email no later than Aug. 13, 2017. If you receive a notice of non-compliance and would like to request a reconsideration, see the instructions in your notification letter and on the SNF Quality Reporting Reconsideration and Exception & Extension webpage.
