Possibility of Contaminated Intravenous Treatments

The Department of Health (DOH) has issued a template letter for facilities to send to discharged residents who received intravenous therapy. The suggested language for a message notifies patients discharged from the facility that they may have received intravenous treatments contaminated by the Burkholderia cepacia bacteria. DOH has advised that nursing homes contact patients who may have been exposed.
