PBJ Learning Opportunity this Thursday

The impending Payroll-Based Journal (PBJ) reporting requirement mandates that nursing homes collect their direct care hours starting July 1, 2016. The first electronic submissions of the data is required in the fall. With the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) requiring the reporting of all direct care hours – including agency and contractor hours – along with census information, providers must get ready today to ensure their data is complete and accurate. Failure to submit or reporting inaccurate data can be costly, potentially leading to citation and civil monetary penalties.

LeadingAge is announcing a free opportunity for members to learn the ins and outs of the PBJ requirements and best practices to collect, review and submit the required information to CMS. A PBJ webinar will be held on Thurs., June 16th, from 2 - 3 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. The session is free but registration is required.

Participants will:

  • Gain an in-depth understanding of the new PBJ requirements;
  • Find out what hours to count and what not to count; and,
  • Learn what processes should be implemented today to get ready.

We encourage members to take advantage of this free learning opportunity.
