Let CDC Know How Infection Prevention Measures Impact Residents
(Oct. 15, 2024) LeadingAge NY members have an opportunity to share with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) the real-world experiences of providers and residents with the CDC's infection prevention recommendations. The CDC's Healthcare Infection Control Practices Advisory Committee (HICPAC) will be meeting from Nov. 14th-15th. While the agenda for this meeting has not yet been released, it is anticipated that issues such as respiratory virus infection prevention and control and management of health care personnel during respiratory virus outbreaks will be discussed. If measures such as enhanced barrier precautions or COVID work exclusion timeframes for health care personnel are having negative impacts on your residents or staff, now is the time to share this information with the CDC.
Members of the public may provide oral comment on issues during these meetings or send comments via email. Requests to make oral comment may be submitted from Oct. 15th-25th. More information about the HICPAC meeting is available here. The documents pertaining to the meeting and the email address for comments should be posted here shortly, or simply send your comments to HICPAC here. Learn more about how and why LeadingAge members should advocate to HICPAC here.
