Interoperable Communications Drills to Be Held
Interoperable Communications (IOC) Drills have been identified by both the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) as priority exercises for public health and health care facilities for 2020-2021. The New York State Department of Health (DOH) will conduct a drill, most likely in September, that will stress the importance of timely communication and response to alerts from the DOH communications systems. DOH has released a PowerPoint describing the drill and provider responsibilities, as well as an After-Action Report template that is to be completed as part of the drill. Members seeking specific information on the drills should contact Pat Anders at Patricia.anders@health.ny.gov.
