Final Rule for Hospice and Nursing Home Agreements

CMS has published the final rule revising the requirements for Long Term Care (LTC) facilities that choose to participate in an agreement with a hospice provider. The rule directs LTC facilities and the hospice programs to have a written agreement in place that specifies the roles of each entity. The clarification is intended to increase coordination of care and increased communication between the hospice and the LTC facility, and reduce duplicated services.
