CMS Stakeholders Meeting

On Wed., April 8, Leading Age NY staff attended a Stakeholders Meeting sponsored by CMS Region II. With the many changes that have taken place in Region II, it was an opportunity to meet Region II staff and begin a dialogue about ways to improve communication and make the current system, including the survey process, more effective. The meeting was hosted by Captain Victoria Vachon, survey branch manager of CMS Region II and was attended by provider associations and regulators from both New York and New Jersey. The topics included several of the collaborative projects that are taking place in Region II including programs to reduce antipsychotics and promote the use of non-pharmalogical approaches. Moving forward, CMS is interested in identifying additional areas for collaboration and potential improvements to the survey and certification process.
