CMS Releases MDS 3.0 QM User's Manual V8.0

The latest version of the MDS 3.0 QM User's Manual has been posted to the CMS website.

Highlights of the April changes include the following:

1. The short-stay influenza vaccination measure excludes residents who are 179 days or less in age.
2. The pneumococcal vaccination measure excludes residents who are less than five years of age.
3. The ICD-9 codes for pressure ulcers were removed from the numerator of the long-stay high-risk pressure ulcer measure.
4. The word "not" was added to the numerator condition #3 in the surveyor behavior measure.  It now states "The presence of other behavioral symptoms not directed towards others."
