CMS Posts Updated MDS Section GG Web-Based Training Series

(Sept. 3, 2024) The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) has posted an updated web-based training series on accurate coding of Minimum Data Set (MDS) Section GG data elements that includes five courses. It can be accessed on the Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) Quality Reporting Program (QRP) Training webpage by scrolling down to Section GG Training Materials or by selecting the course using these links:

• Course 2: Prior Functioning and Prior Device Use
• Course 3: Accurate Coding for GG0130 and GG0170 Items
• Course 4: Understanding Admission and Discharge Performance for GG0130: Self-Care Items
