CDC Webinar to Review Updated NHSN Respiratory Virus Reporting Requirements for Nursing Homes

(Nov. 5, 2024) The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) has issued a new rule requiring nursing homes to report resident information about COVID-19, influenza, and respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) starting Jan. 1, 2025 on a weekly basis through the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) National Healthcare Safety Network (NHSN). This updated requirement will replace the current COVID-19 reporting requirement for staff and residents.

On Thurs., Nov. 7, 2024 at 11 a.m. ET, the CDC will host a webinar to discuss the reporting infrastructure that has been developed to ensure that nursing homes are ready and able to meet these updated requirements this winter. There will also be time for questions and discussion. Click here to register for the webinar.
