National Academies Advisory Committee Issues Recommendations on Nursing Home Quality The recommendations address seven goals, including the delivery of comprehensive, person-centered, and equitable care that promotes autonomy and manages risks. They also seek to ensure a well-prepared and appropriately compensated workforce, increase transparency and accountability, create a more rational and robust financing system, improve the survey process, enhance quality measurement and quality improvement processes, and promote adoption of health information technology.

State's Minimum Nursing Home Staffing Standards Take Effect Despite Statewide Health Care Staffing Emergency The Governor extended the health care staffing emergency, but lifted the freeze on enforcement of nursing home staffing mandates. As a result, certain staffing flexibilities were continued, but nurse and aide minimum staffing levels took effect on April 1st. LeadingAge NY is providing members with resources to respond to the requirements.
