2013 Nursing Home Quality Pool Update

DOH has provided additional clarifications and updates to the 2013 Nursing Home Quality Pool methodology and deadlines:

The cost report deadline for calendar year filers is Aug. 16, 2013 and for fiscal year filers the deadline is Sept. 30, 2013 (pg 6)
The Quality Point grid has been edited to reflect actual points assigned to the Quality Measures (pg 1)
The contract staffing measure will include staff hours associated with specialty beds (pg 2)
The contract staffing measure will be based on a 10 percent cutoff (pg 2)
Included methodology for handling J/K/L deficiencies (pg 4)
Any facility designated as a Special Focus Facility during 2012 or 2013 prior to the calculation of the Quality Pool will be excluded (pg 5)

DOH anticipates releasing the results of the 2013 Nursing Home Quality Pool in November and implementing rate adjustments in December 2013.
