(May 13, 2024) Nursing home members are encouraged to participate in two upcoming webinars from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) related to enhanced barrier precautions and COVID-19 vaccine payment. Please see below from LeadingAge National:

CDC Townhall on Enhanced Barrier Precautions – May 22nd, 1 P.M. ET. This townhall is designed for individuals involved with or working in long-term care settings and will provide an overview of multidrug-resistant organisms (MDROs), discuss why MDROs are a significant concern in health care settings, discuss enhanced barrier precautions and their role in preventing the spread of MDROs, and address common questions surrounding infection prevention. CDC Webinar on COVID-19 Vaccine Payment – May 30th, 2 P.M. ET. This webinar will review resources for navigating the COVID-19 vaccine payment processes and how the Quality Improvement Networks-Quality Improvement Organizations (QIN-QIOs) are connecting nursing homes with pharmacies to provide vaccines and handle billing. Tune in to get plans straight and share feedback on past experiences as the Biden administration plans for the 2024-2025 respiratory virus season.
