RNtoBSN.org Connects Nursing Students with Financial Aid Opportunities
In response to the Institute of Medicine's (IOM) call for "the proportion of nurses with baccalaureate degrees [to] be increased to 80 percent by 2020," a group of professional nurses, educators, writers and editors interested in furthering nursing education has made it their mission to help both current and prospective nurses obtain their Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degrees. Their new website, RNtoBSN.org, offers a searchable database of nearly 10,000 nursing specific and general scholarships that students can filter and sort to fit their situation. In addition, there is federal aid and grant information, assessments of BSN and RN to BSN degrees, an analysis of job prospects and career paths available to RNs, and other resources and tools.
